In My Spare Time ...Cough Cough

In my spare time,  more accurately, when everyone is asleep, I have been working on the following few things. As some of you might know I have been trying to teach myself how to crochet. I can knit so surely crochet can not be that hard....I was so mistaken! I have been practicing on dozens of "Granny Squares" and what finally made the penny drop, if I hold the crochet hook like a knitting needle, I am good to go. Not conventional but then I am not really am I ......So just a few pics,

How have you all been? Drop me a line, tweet me, holla at me on Facey

It's huge, I am not a fan of the j-rolls that you buy over the counter, because they are far too small to carry all my jewels in. So I made one extra extra long :)

The baby loves having her head measured again and again and again. NOT

And finally to carry all my woolly crap in
That's about it for now..... I have a bit of a deep post I am working on at the moment...hopefully I can hit send on it in a couple of days

  1. Wow how did you teach yourself? Did you watch online videos? I knew how to knit as a kid but had forgotten, I refreshed by watching youtube videos. It was a tad confusing at first as my Mum taught me the Finnish way of knitting which is opposite to the Aussie way, so at first I was watching these videos wondering why it looked so different! Anyway finally found the right video and now am knitting on and off. Must make it more on.

Loving the craft inspiration Beth. :)

    1. Ahh you tube is my new bestie and I found some beautiful vintage sewing and crochet books at the Lifeline bookfest. So I have book open and then search the terms in Tube. Modern day brilliance technology !!

  2. Hello you gorgeous thing!!  Been waiting to see you pop your head up.  You're a clever girl, you know that?  Looking forward to reading your next post. xx

  3. I found all these beautiful vintage books at the recent Lifeline bookfest. I search You Tube for the terminology and then work from there. The tube is my best friend, so handy when you are trying to learn something. I find it relaxing to make things Peggy I really do, a area I only tapped into when I was on Maternity Leave, it has now grown to a passion with a whole room dedicated to sewing/craft. It was a balance I needed xx

  4. Oh you clever girl! I too feel at peace when I'm creating  xx

  5. Mummy Issues Part 23 February 2012 at 23:14

I am a knitter too and I just can't get my head around crocheting but it's something I really want to learn. I haven't been "crafty" at all but I am really getting into it too, it gets me out of my head. x

  6. Oh you clever chick. I have never Mastered knitting or crocheting much to my mothers disappointment. I just don't have the patience. I am in admiration of your skill :) xx

I would love to hear from you :) Please leave a comment after the tone..............
